My first gut reaction was, I wonder if the refinery explosion could have been a clandestine retaliatory event sparked by the Assange/Ecuador Standoff. There’s no doubt about it that Assange has pissed off the Fascist Corporatocracy.
In a speech on a national television on Monday August 20th, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez warned the British government about “severe consequences” of a potential breach of the diplomatic status of the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Emphasizing that the Ecuadorian government is not alone, he said, “If Britain decides to violate the sovereignty of Ecuador, our response will be radical. We advise the British government to think well over this since the epoch, when empires did whatever they wanted to, is long over.”
At 1:15 AM, August 25th an explosion tore through Venezuela’s Biggest Oil Refinery at, killing at least 24 people, wounding 86 others, halting operations. An adjacent National Guard post was severely damaged by the blast, along with nearby homes.
Amuay is part of the Paraguana Refinery Complex, which also includes the adjacent Cardon refinery. Together, the two refineries process about 900,000 barrels of crude per day and 200,000 barrels of gasoline.
Chavez said he ordered a “deep investigation” to determine what caused the explosion.
Lame Stream Media is spouting the party line, reporting that it was a gas leak. In light of all the chicanery and backstabbing occurring in attempts to silence and make an example of Julian Assange, I wouldn’t put it past the soulless bastards to execute such a plot. All one needs do is recall Operation Northwoods, one of many such provocative criminal schemes considered by the CIA, where in this case during the early 1960s, America’s top military leaders’ drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.
Like a pack of lawless hooligans, the Brit’s have threatened to storm the Ecuadorian Embassy, shackle Assange and make off with their booty.
Seems like the Brits are just as hypocritical as the Americans – showing their true colors – when it comes to defending democratic principles. Or, the Americans have the Brits on a short leash, who have yanked it tight about their poodle’s neck.
Added coals to the already intensifying flame:
Argentinean lawmakers have passed legislation that bans British-flagged vessels from “mooring, loading, or carrying out logistical operations” in ports in Argentina’s largest province.
Russia and China have verbally sided with Ecuador in the Assange dispute.
With all of this mounting pressure, are we beginning to see cracks forming within the predatory foreign policy of the American government, along with its fraudulent banking system utilized to corral defenseless people into subservient debt slaves?
